1 Peter 2
1 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, 2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, 5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
This scripture reading was in a devotional I was reading this morning and the thought that God gave me was that we are stones of “God’s” building and we represent Christ. When one of these stones gives others a bad impression it causes them to look at the whole building as bad. No wonder some people say I don’t want anything to do with the church! They think the whole church is like that one stone. It is so important that we, as living stones be a good example; the first verse here says, “laying aside ALL malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy and all evil speaking ; When we start to do or say something we should first of all, think, how will this look on the body of Christ. {John 13:35} (New International Version)
(35) By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
{Prayer} Father I pray that we as your body will live and talk a good example of the body of Christ, in Jesus name, Amen
