Facing Temptation
Heb.4:15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
What does it mean when it says, “yet without sin?”
As I was reading this the thought came to me; when Jesus was tempted, how did He face that temptation? If it was “without sin” then I want to know how!
As I remembered what I knew about Jesus’ temptations I remembered the temptation on the mount that is recorded, (Mt.4:1-11)
Each time satan came at Him with a temptation, Jesus answered it with “ words” He didn’t start complaining because He was being tempted; He didn’t start speaking defeat either. He didn’t talk about how hard the temptation was and how weak He was.
No, He began telling that temptation what was written in the word! If that was good for Him then, it's good for us.
When a temptation, trial of affliction comes upon us we need to practice talking positive to it. Tell the temptation what the Word of God says about it and you.
2Tim.1:7, says God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound (sane, clear) mind.
Lk.10:19, Behold, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. Amen
