That Good Part

That Good Part

Luke 10:38-42

38 Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus  feet and heard His word. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”
41 And Jesus[
b] answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

That Good Part,

When we are seeking “the good part” other things must take second and third place. The business of the world is an enemy of our soul, and knowing Christ intimately. Jesus Himself said, “ I do only what the Father tells me.” . John 5:19

  He knew the danger of getting involved with things of the world when we are  serving  God; He is our leader and guide

Mark 10:21

When asked by the rich young ruler, what must I do to be saved? He answered;

21 Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.”

That “Good part” comes from laying aside everything that captures first place in our lives, and seeking Christ

Trust your ways to God

Trust  your ways to God

1 Corinthians 13:12

 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known

      Our vision of life is limited by our humanness;

pr.16:9 says, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.”
 But we can trust ourselves to the One who has an unlimited view.

Isaiah 55:6-9

6 Seek the LORD while He may be found,   Call upon Him while He is near.

       7 Let the wicked forsake his way,  And the unrighteous man his thoughts;

      Let him return to the LORD,  And He will have mercy on him;

      And to our God,  For He will abundantly pardon.

       8“ For My thoughts are not your thoughts,   Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.

       9“ For as the heavens are higher than the earth,  So are My ways higher than your ways,

      And My thoughts than your thoughts.

Jer29:11 says, “I know the thoughts that I have of you, says the Lord, ‘thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

There’s so much now I cannot see,

My eyesight’s far too dim.

But come what may, I’ll simply trust,

And leave it all to Him.---(Overton)
